“It frightens me to think of what is going to happen in another decade when our present smoking habits catch up with us,” says Dr. Ochsner. “Already, lung cancer has achieved pandemic proportions… it is significant that the sharp increase in lung cancer is almost exactly proportional to the increase in cigarette sales. I am convinced tht the heavy smoker will develop long cancer — unless heart disease of some other sickness claims him earlier.”
